Hachi - a great family movie.
I am an avid movie watcher.
I am not sure if my watching excessive amount of movies is because I am lazy
or I just find them easy way to keep myself occupied. I have seen movies that have critically
acclaimed, critically panned, and some movies just loved by movie geeks. I have seen movies because of the actors
starring in them, director directing them, or just the writer who wrote the
screenplay. I have also seen movies that
someone had recommended because I have valued their opinion. Sometimes, the movies are made to entertain,
sometimes are made as an art piece and sometimes, movies are made to make us
think. I will admit that I don’t care for
movies that pretend to be art pieces but then lack the other ingredients that
make a movie entertaining. Example of
high art movie will be like most of the Stanley Kubrick or David Lynch
movies. Their movies might be critically
loved by the critics but I find their movies to be inaccessible. And the only reason I have seem most of their
movies is because the critics has praised their movies to the maximum. Recently, someone on the web recommended
certain movies
that will make men cry. One of the movie
mentioned in the list was a movie about a loyal dog named Hachi. The movie is titled “Hachi: a Dog’s
tale.”
The movie has a great casting and major stars of the movie
are breed of dogs (Akita) that play the dog’s character at various stages of
the dog’s life. The thing about dogs is
that they have many wonderful facial
expression and mannerism that translate really well on to visual media. This movie touches you even with its high
melodrama. Anyone who ever had a dog
will love this movie. We all know how
the stories on loyalty of dogs are legendary.
Many movies have been made about the dog’s loyalty to their human family. Hachi is also such a story; a story of a dog
yearning for his master when his master passes away. I recommend this movie to anyone who wants to
