Just checking few things around the web. Posted some comments on a website that is set up to promote discussion on Cinema - Hindi cinema in particular but world cinema in general. Well written article are posted by people who are either professional writers or sometimes amateur writers who are just passionate about good cinema.
My only complaint about this site is the moderation of comments by the site owners. I had posted couple of comments on the site about how Hindi cinema will not make an honest movie on linkup of terrorism with Islam. This comment was seen by the moderator as inappropriate and was removed after a day. I think it started because I posted another comment on the review of movie Kurbaan by Khalid Mohammed posted on the site. My comment regarding the review was directed at reference made by the author that the filmmaker might have named terrorist Khalid because of the critic (himself). Kind of a sly way of saying that the film maker see him as a terrorist not to mention the size of writer's ego that will lead him to view the whole thing as such. I made the comment that Khalid might have been named after a "murderous Jackass" named Khalid Sheikh Mohammed. I am sure the guy by the handle "OZ" is a moderator and he had that comment removed. I don't understand this censorship because he later used the same comment I made as his own comment to another commentator. Oz you suck.
So a site that promotes good cinema and free speech by implication likes to censor comments that might not go with moderator's own bias. I will still visit the site.
